Toyota Japan manufactured the mark II between 1968 to 2004. It was a mid-sized sedan and had four generations during its production years.
In the 1960s era, Toyota mainstreamed itself as an emerging brand by introducing the Mark II which was smaller than the crown but larger than older Toyotas. It was a semi-luxury car with its engine in the front and rear wheel drive, commercial vehicles, it got its popularity by sharing its appearance with the well-known crown.
The last model was launched in 2006. It had a 2.5litre petrol engine which was now much more fuel efficient than the previous generation engines and also had vvt-i introduced for the first time. This model had the mainstream look of the cars of its era with curvy lines and no edges or corners at all. This was the last model of the mark II lineup which was then succeeded by the mark X.
