For some years I have spent thousands of hours finding the right vehicle, and to cut it short, the Toyota Coaster is the benchmark. Not shore what type of Bus you need or even if you need a bus, its time you start reading.
Toyota Coaster busses are one of the most well known busses in service, catering for the 22-passenger range. They use well known commercial motors such as the Toyota 1hz and a few other hard working Toyota motors as well, most will go into the 1 million KM range if treated well.. The shape of the Toyota Coaster is 1.9m wide; pull out your tape masseur and measure your car.

You will see that the Toyota Coaster is only a little bit bigger then your family car in width. Step into a Coaster and you will see the internal size is very workable for a campervan or motorhome. Bigger on the inside then they look.

Other busses are 2.1 or 2.4 that’s a lot when you are driving threw the city or you have big trucks along side you, thinner is better for easy comfortable driving.
The length of a Coaster is about 7.5m It dose not sound like much but it enough to have a double bed and a kitchen and toilet and fridge and storage. When you go round a round about you can easily go a little wider and get round with out any troubles.

The longer the bus the more widely you will need to steer out to get round a corner. Keep it simple and small. One day you might want your wife to drive at some stage or another family member that is use to driving a car.

You can also have the Coaster Bus registered to drive on a car license.
For size alone the Coaster is the perfect size, not too big and not too small. You can drive it like a big van, its easy to get the feel for a coaster and easy to negotiate in the city and in the bush. Try doing that with a big bus!

I have bought bigger buses and driven bigger busses, and I still keep finding myself coming back to the Toyota Coaster for some reason or another. IF I had to recommend a bus to an elderly couple or a your couple, it would be a coaster each and every time.
I know you can buy a Hino Bus or a Mitsubishi Rosa Bus, but many reviews keep pointing to the Toyota Coaster as better to drive, better motor, better on parts, easier to drive.

Parking is easy with the Coaster, you will over hand 1.5 to 2m, not much and its over looked in most car parks. The general rule is park down the back or without blocking anyone. You don’t need you park or double park like most other busses do, as a Coaster your not that much bigger, 

d have made many friends along the way driving my bus around, Its always interesting to see others who have taken the time to build and go touring in a bus. I have see large busses and different kinds of busses, but the one thing that remains the same is that the owners are out having fun and enjoying the our doors with their bus.
Imagine taking every thing you need when you go somewhere, its sounds crazy but it is and lot of fun, if you still have kids, taking everything including the kitchen sink will allow you to go to some crazy and wild places and live like a king and keep the kids happy and quiet along the way.

Recently I took the family on a trip down the coast, 8am in the morning I got out of bed and walked less the 5m to the beach and had a swim with my son, if the view and the smell of waking up on a beach dose not get you excited, how about a fresh swim to walk up, followed by a hot shower and a nice breakfast in the sun. Afterwards I put on some fresh cloths on and turned on a DVD for the kids and we hit the road, try doing that in a camper van or a hotel room you booked on the fly.
